A day, one number. Last night, Racing launched its HCup season the best possible way, by beating at home ASM Clermont-Auvergne 13 to 9. A team spirit and a heroic defense heavily contributed to Racingmen's success in this Day 1 of HCup. A real team win which set off this european season.
As the number of tackles initiated by Racing Metro 92 in this first 2013-2014 HCup success. A statistic attesting Ciel et Blanc's huge defense which, let's not forget, did not concede a single point throughout the whole second half. Despite a 30% of ball possession, Racingmen focused on a reliable team spirit, made of efforts and sacrifices. A permanent and immediat support following each Clermont's line breaks, which gave to Racingmen a total of 142 successful tackles and a success rate of 87%. Fabrice Estebanez, exhausted at the end of the match, excecuted the best individual performance in defense with 14 successful tackles.
On the other, Clermont brougth down the Ciel et Blanc only 29 times, with a success rate of 88%. Team defensive statistics at their total opposite.
