After a loss (6-0) in the Oyonnax tranches, leaving a bitter taste, last week-end in a confrontation counting for Day 16 of TOP 14, the Ciel et Blanc are back in the Heineken Cup competition, for the two weeks to come. First opponent, the Scarlets of Llanelli against who Racing managed to bring back a draw in round 2 of HCup.
The number of successful tackles made by the Racingmen in the first leg confrontation between the Scarlets and Racing Metro 92. A team performance led by Ciel et Blanc Flankers, Wenceslas Lauret and Dan Lydiate who stood up defensively with respectively fifteen and eleven tackles each. Racing’s Captain, Dimitri Szarzewski completes the podium of the best defenders of the match with ten successful tackles.
On the welsh, the Scarlets squad selected for the second round of HCup, counted forty-five defensives acts against the Ciel et Blanc. Winger Nick Reynolds was the top performer in this sector, for the Welsh side with five tackles, followed by hooker Emyr Phillips and Center Scott Williams, both at four tackles.
