Scrum Session for Belgium U18s

Scrum Session for Belgium U18s

Under the canny eye of Adrien Buononato, coach of the Ciel et Blanc Espoirs, this morning the club played host to the Belgium U18s for a session on scrum technique. Currently in training at Verneuil-sur-Seine, the young Belgians are preparing for the European -18 Championship, a kind of Six Nations 'B', which they will begin with a First Division game against the powerful Russians.

Live scrums, individual skills and collective workshops, our Belgian visitors were able to test themselves, refining their technique with a whole range of exercises. "To have the possibility of training with Racing's facilities is fabulous for our young players!" admitted their coach Guillaume Ajac. A former Racingman, having spent ten years with the club, Guillaume is none other than the brother-in-law of Anthony Cabaj, backs coach of the Racing Espoirs.

"It is thanks to Anthony that we have had the opportunity of coming to train here," he explained. In Belgium, there are not many players to pick from, but those who do choose to play rugby are totally passionate about the game. Some of them have definite potential, and we are very grateful to Racing for allowing us to take advantage of the equipment here."

On Wednesday evening the Belgium -18s will play a game against the Reichel (U21s) of Suresnes.
